I have been Making fun things and organizing! I will hopefully get pix posted later this wk! Really sux not having the internet @ home! Having to remember to bring not only my camera but the cords as well to get pix online!

Everybody keeps telling me to do something for myself today and have fun... So I will!

I forgot to take the before pic. :o( Oh well you only get to see what it looks like now! :o) Yes I need to put laundry away! I had just finished doing all the laundry and now it sits, waiting by my dryer, to be put away.

Sorry about the crappy pix! I couldn't find my camer so I used my phone and that camera sucks when it's not noon day!

Before: Not terrible considering my 1 & 3 yr olds get in there practically every day and throw it all over the kitchen. :o) They are also responsible for putting it back.

Day 1: Junk Drawer

Before- a whole lotta crap that I threw in there when we moved in over 2 yrs ago!

After - Completely empty! It was mostly all trash and a few things that I needed to file! Yay!

New Years Resolution

I know its a lil early for the New Years Resolutions but I'm posting anyway! :o)

My new years resolutions (not in any particular order):
Be a better mom and wife
Get organized and stay organized
Post @ least once a wk on my blogs (family, craft, and cooking)
Really put an effort into my Mary Kay business - www.marykay.com/lesliemorgan2010
Upcycle and handmade only - I will try for 3 months and see how it goes
Clip coupons and USE them!!!! (part of being organized - i know)
Keep my house clean
Enjoy the little things
Not stress so much - especially w/ noise!
Really try to do my "Morgan 5" aka "Morning 5"
Write down something I'm thankful for everyday - to help me be more grateful :o)
Be prepared - get my emergency preparedness stuff in order

I know some of these are on the general side but do you really expect me to share all the details and let anyone in the world completely into my life? Sorry, not gonna happen. :o)

Feel free to check up on me with any of these things! I do better when I know someone will be checking up on me. :o)

Another Baby Shower

I have another bb shower to go to on sat so I finally got around to making the blanket and booties. Once again the photos are from my phone so just bear with the pix. :o)

I just went and saw what bedding she was registered for and got the receiving blankets that matched the set. I bought some brown flannel for the back and just wrapped the back around the front for the binding! I am quite proud of this blanket and the booties. I have leftover so if I'm having a boy I'll probably be making it for my baby. If not I know 4 others having babies around the time that I am so I'm sure one of them is bound to have a boy. :o)

I love the quilting job I did on this. Just simple horizontal lines that were spaced about 1/2" from the seams. I love it! Hope you enjoy!

Slacking

Wow! I thought I was slacking on my family blog but I'm really slacking here! So I have been doing some projects. Don't worry I didn't give up on the world of crafting! This first one is a quilt I did for my SIL for christmas. She loves giraffes so I wanted to make a quilt with giraffes for her.

I went online and googled giraffes and found a couple of pix of an African sunrise with giraffes in the pic but they were silouettes. I thought that would make an awesome quilt that Bailey would like and nobody on earth would have one like it! So I set to drawing it out transfering to graph paper and making a pattern. I found the fabric I wanted to use, put it all together and came out with my first ever everything! :o) It was the first quilt I've actually completed and had quilted. First time binding a quilt. It was a first for designing the quilt. It was also the first (of many) that I planned to give away.

So here it is! The Front and than the back.

I must say I was quite proud! I do need help with binding but I found an article today that I think helped me figure out what I was doing wrong... We'll see with the next blanket that I do...I'm doing another bb blanket for a bb shower that I have in a wk...I still have to start. :o) Here is the other bb blanket I did for a shower I went to at the beginning of the month.

Oh and the little booties that I made to go along with it! Sorry if the pix are poor quality I took them on my phone and emailed them to myself so I could get them posted.

Reversible half apron

So I was at the Corn Wagon in Springville with my mom and niece a while back and bought some cute fabric that I wanted to make an apron out of. Well my niece saw the fabric and asked what I was getting it for so I told her I was making an apron. She said she wanted one to match mine so I bought her some fabric too. I figured her b-day was coming up and I would make it and give it to her then.

Here is one like it that I made to sell and see if I could make a little extra money. Do you think these would sell? They are for children.

As you can see they are reversible. Cute little flowers on one side and citrus slices on the other.

As a consultant for Close to my Heart I participated in a LO Challenge with other consultants. I love doing them and it helps me to complete my scrapbook. Anyways, this is the LO I came up with according to the challenge guidelines.

Another Quilt top

I have finished another quilt top aside from the border... so maybe that means I haven't finished it. Oh well I have been looking for a pic of it on my comp, but can't find the one I took, so I'll have to take another one and post it. (Another christmas present) :o)

One Quilt Top Finished

This is my first quilt top that I have ever finished! Yeah for me! I am quite proud of it. Now comes the fun... or not so fun part of finishing the quilt. I'm not entirely sure since I've never finished a quilt before. I'm sure it will be great. I have yet to find a backing fabric, baste all the layers, quilt it and bind it. I am trying to figure out if I am gonna have a go at quilting it myself or having someone else do it for me. I am leaning toward someone else, seeing as this is my first quilt, it is going to be a Christmas present and I don't want to ruin it and really, I just don't trust myself to quilt it. Time will tell what I decide to do.

Yes I am starting another blog. I figured this one will be all encompassing of my crafts. The wants, the wips and the finally completes! Yeah for mommy alone time! Or nap time whatever the case may be for me getting my "fun stuff" done.
